Every year, Tirkandi Inaburra supports more than 50 young Aboriginal males who are at risk of disengaging from school and society and becoming involved in the juvenile justice system. Our culturally-based residential care program identifies their talents and dreams, expands their cultural identity and builds the resilience they need to thrive in their communities.
Tirkandi Inaburra Cultural and Development Centre Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation founded by Aboriginal community members of the Riverina region (Wiradjuri Country).
We’re a non-government organisation working in partnership with the NSW Department of Communities & Justice and NSW Department of Education to improve education levels and close immediate gaps in the lives of young Aboriginal males between the ages of 12 and 15.
We have big dreams to reduce Indigenous representation in the criminal justice system by transforming the lives of thousands of young Aboriginal people in need, including girls and older boys.
