Tirkandi Virtual Programming!

Main Content

Due to the current COVID-19 climate and associated NSW lockdown, it has been necessary for Tirkandi to think somewhat creatively and devise some program that can be delivered in a “virtual” manner, in an effort to continue our support of clients and their families.

In this regard, only 2-days after the regional NSW lockdown was announced, Tirkandi commenced the delivery of 12-assorted programs via a mixture of our staff working from home or in a COVID-safe manner here on-site. These programs include such things as regular phone or video “catch-ups”, a life skills program, live-feed didgeridoo lessons, online group workshops relating to mental-health, cultural knowledge and men’s yarning, regular cultural and educational quizzes, school-work assistance, and the provision of data allowances to support online engagement with school and Tirkandi-based learning

In the picture below you can see our Youth Workers Joe T, Lorrae, Joe W, Zeke and Gilly preparing to deliver a live-feed support session from the Tirkandi conference room.
