On Friday 28th April 2023, the NSW Governor, the Honorable Margaret Beazly visited Tirkandi and met with the current Term 2 participants, the Tirkandi Board and staff, and local supporters and stakeholders.
Her Excellency, along with her husband, spent approximately 1.5-hours on-site, during which she met with current participants and past graduates, took a tour of the centre, spoke with the Tirkandi Board about current and future program direction and challenges, and received a cultural dance and didgeridoo performance from current and past Tirkandi boys.
The Tirkandi Chairperson, Aunty Patricia Cerminara hosted the event, which will remain a highlight for all in attendance for many years to come.
Huge thanks to Her Excellency and husband, and the Governor’s office staff for making the visit happen. Massive thanks also to representatives from the Tirkandi Board, DCJ, DoE, and the Tirkandi staff for making the visit so special.
